Our tours start at the bottom of South Street, near the Urban Splash Sales Office - look out for the feather flag! You can find more information and a map on our How to Find Us page. Your tour guides will normally be at that location approximately 15 minutes before the tour commences.
Yes. If you are a large group looking for a tour of Park Hill, then a private group tour may be more suitable. These can be arranged on a mutually suitable date year-round. You can find more information here.
Although there is pay-and-display car parking on site (accessed from Duke Street), it is limited and shared with residents, therefore unless required due to mobility issues, we encourage you not to add to the pressure on spaces. We are conveniently located for arrival on foot, by bicycle or via public transport.
The tour covers a distance of approximately 1km (1200 steps) including a few flights of stairs, however we are able to use alternative step-free routes suitable for wheelchair and mobility scooter users, or those less mobile. Your tour guide will check this at the start of each tour, there is no need to notify us in advance. Unfortunately, the flat interiors are all duplex so access may be limited for some during these stops.
Due to safety reasons and ongoing building work, we are unable to access the undeveloped parts of the site. However, there are opportunities for a close up view from parts of the tour route.
Past tours have been enjoyed by children of all ages. The first part of the tour focuses on the history and development of Park Hill, which younger children may not find as engaging as exploring the building. Teenagers may find the tours useful as the estate is used as a case study in GCSE Geography (AQA/OCR). All children must be accompanied.
No. All visitors must have booked a ticket in advance.
Unfortunately we don’t have any storage facilities for bags, prams, etc. There are outdoor “Sheffield Stand” bike hoops on Pat Midgley Lane and street furniture near the sales office that bikes can be locked to at the owners’ risk.
Out of courtesy to residents, other guests and the guides we do not allow dogs. We also pass through various parts of the estate where dogs are not permitted.
The tour includes a glass lift to the 12th floor and follows the Streets in the Sky at that level. As such, it may be unsuitable for those with a phobia of heights.

There are toilets available at South Street Kitchen and The Pearl, all subject to opening hours. There are no facilities during the tour.
Your tour guides are all volunteers who live at Park Hill, they all have a comprehensive knowledge and lived experience of Park Hill, with some also working in the architectural profession. All proceeds from ticket sales are donated to Park Hill Residents’ Association who fund events, activities and improvements to the estate for the benefit of residents.
